Before and After

Before and After

Happy July!  This year has gone by so fast, I can not believe it's already summer.  It has officially been 6 months since we moved out of New York City and 2 months in our new home in Northern California (we traveled abroad in Southeast Asia in between) and we are loving every moment out here.  The daily sunshine, the plentiful nature, the artistic communities, there is so much to be grateful for!

Just last week I met with the lovely and very talented wedding planner and designer Carolyn Wilson whom I met at an industry event just a week prior at 25 Lusk in San Francisco.  She approached me about a project she was gearing up for in the gorgeous showroom of Pleasanton Event Rentals called a "Tabletop Takeover".  It would be a month-long display of our own unique design using the plentiful and magnificent props provided by the rental company. Carolyn said she was really excited to meet a paper florist since she was concerned about real flowers not making it the whole month.  It was destined to be!

I quickly agreed to create the paper floral design which included 3 centerpieces for an 8 foot rectangular table, while she would design the tablescape by choosing the flatware, dishes, votives and more!  The entire thing would then be photographed by the very talented Dana Todd.

And it would all happen on July 1st.  I had exactly one week.

It was all quite an experience.  I think I worked exactly 80 hours in one week, and I slept for about 5 hours each night. I really was excited about using this amazing opportunity to showcase my latest inspirations and test out some new design ideas.  Overall I was extremely pleased with the way it turned out and am honored to be able to say that I worked with these extraordinarily talented women.

A great big thank you to the whole team for involving me in this project.  It was so wonderful to work with you and I hope to do it again soon!

Love!
