A few months ago, the lovely Erin from Swagpie Vintage Furniture Rentals reached out to me about putting together a different kind of stylized wedding photoshoot. Her idea was fascinating to me as an artist, the colors were deep, dark and vibrant and reminded me of an old-style dutch painting. Needless to say, I immediately jumped on the opportunity.
I created a paper flower bouquet complete with fine crepe paper roses, climbing paper ivy and even paper grapes and figs that were hand-painted with watercolor. In addition to the bouquet, there was a paper rose for the model's hair and a single-stemmed paper rose for her to hold. I used gold and cream paper vines draped over a vintage vanity dresser, placed in an open field in a park in Cupertino, California. This was one of the finest Paper Portrayals' bouquets to date!
Besides working with an amazing team of incredibly talented women, my favorite part of the shoot was when Romeo, a local therapy goat out on his afternoon walk decided to join the fun! His owners were so kind to let him participate in the shoot, and he got a lot of love out of it (our model was a huge animal lover!)
